Apparently every time he tries opening a browser to start surfing, a message pops up tell him he has a virus and he should run a full system scan. When he runs the scan the program shows he has a lot of viruses on the pc. However, to clean the viruses he would need to purchase the full program at a whopping $69.99. This is where I started laughing because that just reeked of scam. Now I am no expert but I know a scam when I hear one and so too did my dad cause he never paid, instead he calls me for my help in fix it.

So I inform him most likely he has a virus on the pc and an aggressive one at that because it was more or less holding his pc hostage until he paid this absurd $69.99. I told him no need to worry thou just run a full scan with the antivirus program we had recently installed and that should clear it up. He called me back a few hours later and said same problem and the antivirus program did not detect any viruses. Now Avast, which is the antivirus program he has installed, is a very good one so I started thinking this virus is a lot more serious than I thought.

I asked him if there was a name at the top of this pop up box he kept getting when he tried going online and he said yes, XP AntiSpyware. I found it strange that XP had a Spyware program and that they were charging to use it. Something seemed really strange so I told my dad let me go do some research and I would get back to him. I googled XP AntiSpyware and began to learn how dangerous this virus really is. Apparently XP AntiSpyware which is also known as XP Antivirus Pro is a program which promotes itself as a antispyware tool.

The program itself remains hidden within a trojan program and once the trojan program is started, XP AntiSpware downloads and installs itself onto your pc and this is where the nightmares begins. XP AntiSpyware during installation configures itself to run automatically anytime you try to run any program on your pc with an “.exe” extension, which if you did not know is like 99% of all windows programs on your pc. Hence the reason my dad could not of gotten online because IE (Internet Explorer) and Firefox are executable programs, well programs with an “.exe” extension to put simply.

Apparently once the XP AntiSpyware program starts it performs a so called full system scan and returns a large number of infected files and viruses. All of which are totally fake so you can feel free to ignore all the different alerts and warnings when they pop up but you still would not be able to access much programs on the infected pc. The program really has one purpose which is to scare you into thinking you have several viruses on your pc and hopefully get you to pay the ridiculous $69.99 to get rid of them. Well it certainly scared my dad but luckily he did not pay to get the full program to remove the bogus viruses.

So after some more researching I was able to find enough information on how to go about removing this very sly and smart virus. I called back my dad and walked him thru step by step on how to remove the virus. You can follow these simple steps to get rid of the virus yourself and not have to spend any money getting it done.

Step 1:

First thing you have to do is regain control of the ability to run “.exe” files. To do this:

Click on the Start button

Click Run

Type the word Command in the pop up box and hit enter. A black window should open.

Type the word Notepad in the black window as shown in the image below. Then hit enter and the Notepad program would open.

§

Copy the below text into Notepad and save it. My dad was really happy at this point so much so he rushed me off the phone so he could go check all his emails he had missed out on for the past couple of days. However, one serious point to note is that your current antivirus program allowed this virus in so you may want to consider changing your antivirus program or updating to a full version of your current program. It could also be that someone was careless in allowing a trojan program to be installed, which is what I think happened in my Dad’s case, so please be careful of the programs you install on your pc.
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; Today, music is one of the most effective tools for inducing relaxation.

According to doctors, relaxation music CDs and videos can stimulate activity corresponding to its beats in the brain. That is why soothing music encourages contemplation and relaxation. The alterations in brain activity caused by music lead to widespread changes in other bodily functions. Thus, calming music has a positive impact on our breathing and our heart rate. Listening to relaxation music CDs and videos leads to the activation of relaxation response in the body.

Music effectively counteracts the damaging effects of extreme stress. It can reduce blood pressure, boost immunity and relieve tension in the muscles. Slower breathing and relaxed heart rate brings about relaxation in the body. It is even believed that music has the ability to reduce the risk of stroke and heart related problems. These healing properties of music explain the frequent use of relaxation music CDs and videos in therapy and counseling.

There is another reason why music can be effectively used for relaxation. Research has shown that the change music brings in brainwave activity makes it easier for the brain to shift into a calm and meditative state more easily on its own when the need arises in future. Therefore, music has a lasting impact on our response to stress. The power of music does not stop there. People battling with high amounts of negative stress often feel frustration and anxiety. These negative stress responses can wreck havoc on the body, mind and life of people suffering from it. Music can be used to encourage a positive state of mind in people who are stressed out.

With so many beneficial effects on the body and mind, it is little wonder that music is finding a place of pride and importance in mind therapy. Different kinds of music are used for different types of therapy. The music used for relaxation is generally mild and soothing, and it has a calming effect on the body. You may choose instrumental music or music interwoven with positive affirmations to help you ward off the detrimental effects of negative stress. Whatever kind of music you use, it is obvious that music is one of the easiest, most affordable and effective forms of relaxation available to us.

Farmville Frenzy

Hello Everyone,

For those of you who have Facebook accounts then you have probably heard of the popular game “Farmville”. While there are thousands of games are being played daily on Facebook, Farmville has rapidly become the most played game in Facebook history. A record of over 62 million people has signed up for the game and 22 million log in daily to play. (Me being one of them) Countless people are checking their farms ever so often to see what has been produced.

There are some who do not know what is it that I am talking about or are asking what is Farmville? Well Farmville, as you would derive from the name, is a virtual farming game created by the company Zynga. Basically, you are given land to plant and raise fruits, vegetables, flowers and animals, so that you may harvest and sell for virtual coins. While the game can get repetitive pretty quickly, what makes this game fun or at least why I and many people like me keep coming back to play, is because something new is always added periodically. As you level up new plants and decorations for your farm are gained. I can even adopt animals from my friends, like a pink cow as my friend calls it “The Victoria’s Secret Cow”, which gives you strawberry milk. Farmville brings out your artistic creativity. You are able to design your farm as much as you please or for some as little as you want. I have seen designs (using hay stacks) of a person’s country of origin flag to the image of a ghost.

Another thing I like about Farmville is that it’s very seasonal. Depending on the holiday or season, you are able to get attain items to that particular event. Recently Halloween was celebrated and I got to purchase tomb stones, so now currently in my farm I have a little cemetery with the ghost of a haunted cow. And since Thanksgiving is right around the corner, I can adopt turkeys, which is a new animal introduced to the game. I have to admit I’m excited to see what they will bring out for Christmas. Possibly a Christmas tree or snow man, but that’s just what makes the game fun, the anticipation of news things.

I have heard stories of people sitting by their computers waiting for their crops to harvest. I have even timed my harvesting till the end of my work day, that just show how dedicated I am to play this game as I’m sure many are.

As much as I like Farmville there are many that do not like it. There is even a group created on facebook named “I Hate Farmville” which is one of the biggest anti-farmville groups. I have seen some friend’s status saying do not send them any Farmville request. I guess what I am saying is that Farmville isn’t for everyone. But if you are looking for something new and different and fun to pass your time on facebook, then I would recommend playing Farmville.

FarmVille Secrets: The Best Kept Secrets Revealed!

Written By: Sabrina Ali

Cheap Web Hosting & Domain Sites

Hello Everyone,

I started this post because I was tired of searching all over the internet looking for free web hosting sites. Little did I know I had to have a registered domain name in order to really make use of the sites that offered Free Web Hosting. So I changed my search criteria from free to cheap because I did not have a registered domain and no one site I came across was offering that for free. In fact, you pay for hosting and get the domain free or you pay for the domain and get the web hosting for free, well at least for a certain period of time.

Now that my search criteria had change, I had to decide and decipher through the many different features all these different sites was offering to ensure I got the most for my money. Mind you I did not plan on spending any money in the first place because I thought I could have gotten all this for free, how naive of me. Wikipedia became my friend in translating some of the web hosting lingo these sites was tossing around. How was I to choose site "A" over site "B" because site "A" was offering more Bandwidth and FTP access, when I did not even know what bandwidth nor FTP access was!

So I learned and I learned and I Wikipedia and I learned some more. I finally became comfortable with the terms being used and was more comfortable now deciphering between the varieties of features the different sites offered. I could now make a more informed decision on the sites I would be choosing from for web hosting and domain services. I would advise anyone new to the whole web hosting, website building, domain registering arena that you take your time and learn the features or at least the benefits of them before you select a site for your hosting services. To make life a little simpler for you I decided to compile a list of sites I found and research that offer really cheap rates in comparison to industry leaders. Below is the list that I would continue to update and give a brief description of each site, some of the features they offer and the base price of their hosting package.

Aplus.net - Provides website creation tools, Google webmaster tools along with blog, forum and gallery integrations into your site. I have been participating in paid surveys since 2001 and have sampled many great products now existing on the market. I have also shared my opinion in several surveys where my input had some impact of the finally advertising on a product or the product itself. A couple of years ago I was in between jobs and decide why not expand on my opinion sharing, so I found a couple more survey companies and signed up. In total, I am now registered with 12 different survey companies and I have been making a somewhat steady income of just about $120.00 a month. It may not sound like much and I have no intentions of deceiving you into believe you can get rich by taking paid surveys. What I do in enjoy, besides the extra income, is not only helping shape products before they come to market but also getting the chance to sample them. It truly is a unique experience when you participate in a survey and a couple of months later you see the same product being advertise on television, even more so when the commercial being shown is the one you choose to be the best out of all the samples given.

I started this blog because I wanted to share my experience with survey taking and offer up some tips on how to maximizing the earning potential you can receive with doing paid surveys. Over the years I have really learnt a lot of little tricks of sort in qualifying for surveys and receiving more than the allotted amount of surveys, thus increasing my chances to gain more income. There is really nothing difficult about doing paid surveys, all you need is about 15-30min per survey and in some instances is a Paypal account to get paid, although some sites pay by check. If you do not have a Paypal account you can sign up for a free one here. Some of the sites that pay by check also ship those checks to international address at no extra charge in most cases. However, it may take up to 4-6 weeks to receive your check in the mail and for international address even long, where as with Paypal you receive your money in your account a couple of days later. Now you are ready to begin earning that little extra income at the end of the month and using my simple tips would help you maximize that extra income.

Tip #1: Sign up for more, earn more.

So this might be an obvious tip but I think it is worth mentioning. The more survey sites you sign up for the more surveys you receive. The more surveys you receive, the more compensation you would be able to collect. More surveys equals more income. Personally I am signed up with 12 different survey sites and continually look for other survey sites that would compensate me generously for my opinions on existing or future products. If you are really serious about making money from taking paid surveys then my suggestion is to sign up for a minimum of 5 different survey sites in order to really see some substantially income flow. Some survey sites only send out one survey a day or maybe even two. Others send out several surveys a day but you may not qualify for each and every one of the surveys and then there are sites that send out 1 survey a week. It all depends on the interest you selected, your age, your income and even your ethnic background. Therefore to maximize your chances of increasing your earnings by taking surveys, sign up at many survey sites as you can. In this post I have listed several of my favorite survey sites and I would continue to update it as I find more viable sites.

Tip #2: Do more in less time.

Now that you are signed up for at least 5 paid survey sites, there are going to be days where you have several surveys pending which is a really good thing. So why not do all the surveys you receive all at once? There is nothing wrong with doing 2 or 3 or even 4 surveys all at once. There is no rule saying that you can’t. You would not be penalize for doing it and there is no tracking system the survey sites put out to make sure you are only doing their survey and no one else’s. So by all means go ahead and do them all at once. Open up several browser windows, log into your different survey sites or click on the surveys sent to your email, and commence on your opinion sharing. The good thing is most browsers have Tabbed browsing so you do not need to have several windows open, you can do all your surveys in one window but using different Tabs within the one window. Now you can put your multitasking talents to use and watch it make you money instead of your boss.

Tip #3: Let them know who you are.

Most people actually forget to this or do it partially and then wonder why they are not receiving many or any surveys at all. Make sure and complete your member profile correctly and thoroughly. Also many survey sites have a section asking you about your interest and base the surveys they send you on the interest you select. My suggestion, select all! Remember you are in this to earn money so the more surveys you get the more chances you have of making that extra income you desire. In the instance a survey sites limits the number of interest you can select, let’s say 10 interest choices is the max, look for the best 10. Choose interests that are common to several people because after all its advertisers that would be collecting the data from these survey sites to be used in their ad campaigns and unless it is totally specific marketing, they are going to be marketing to the mass population. Therefore, stay away from interest like Stamp Collecting, while it might be your favorite hobby, there are not many advertisers interested in collecting data on peoples Stamp Collecting practices.

Tip #4: Be honest but not totally honest.

Most surveys start with a qualification survey before the actual survey. Depending on the answers you give on the qualification survey you might not be taken to the actual survey but instead given a message like "You do not meet the survey criteria" or "You do not qualify for this survey". Once you have done numerous surveys like I have done you start to get a feel for the correct response they look for in order to qualify for the survey. This is where you do not have to be totally honest. My suggestion for filling out the qualifying part of any online survey is, try to be as open as possible and not fall into a particular category of sorts. For example, often times in qualifying surveys you are ask "Do you or anyone in your household work for any of the industries below?" I often click on the "None of the above" option because I want to get past the qualifying survey and on to the real survey to get the incentive.

Why I do this you make ask, because suppose I choose the option of Education as the industry I work in and turns out that the survey they want me to do is about Education, then most likely I would not qualify for the survey because of my familiarity and bias with the topic. Therefore, I would not make it past the qualifier and would not get the chance of take the real survey and making money. So make sure at the start of any survey that has a qualifier, which most do, that you answer the questions in a way that would get you to move on to the real survey and the chance of receiving the incentive, after all that is why you are taking the survey in the first place. I strongly suggest however, once you get past the qualifier, be completely honest with your answers, even if it means pretending to be a 15yr old girl (something I have done on several occasions when taking surveys on my daughters behalf). Yes I know a bit confusing but what I mean is to answer as if you were actually a 15yr old girl. At the end of the day these surveys collect information for advertisers and you are compensated for your time, so it is a win win situation for everyone.

Tip #5: Time does equal money.

I earn just about $120.00 a month because I am registered with 12 different paid survey companies and on average I complete about 40-50 surveys a month. Yeah I know it sounds like a lot but when you do the math in terms of time it really is not that bad. The average survey time is about 15-30min and when you multiple that 50 x 30 you get 2500mins which equals 25hrs, but 25hrs space over a one month period works out really great. However if you still find it too intense , which it could be for a first timer, then I suggest start with about 5 paid companies. With 5 companies you reduce the number of surveys you get per month as well as the time you would spend doing surveys. But if you can spare about an hour a day then you can really see your earnings from doing paid surveys increase.

Tip #6: How long is too long on a survey?

Most surveys when you get them tell you how long the survey is and the compensation for the survey. Some may have a direct monetary compensation for the survey others may have a point system set up. In the points system you can use your points accumulated to redeem prizes, gift certificates, enter sweepstakes or redeem your points directly for cash. I prefer the latter, even thou there are really some pretty cool prizes, I just like seeing my income grow. So back to the main question, how long is too long. On average a typical surveys takes about 15-30min to complete, depending on your concentration and the speed at which you can click (just joking) but seriously the more focus you are on a particular survey the faster you can complete it. The faster you complete it leaves you with more time to complete another so stay focus.

How much can you expect to earn for time spent filling out a survey 15-30mins long you may ask. Well it differs slightly from survey site to survey site, but on average you can expect to make around $1.00 to $3.00 per survey for that duration. Very rare would get a survey lasting less than 15min and if you do get one the compensation would not be that valuable or it may just be an evaluation survey to see if you would qualify for another survey later on. Surveys lasting more than 30min usually have higher compensation values. These are sometimes group surveys where you participate in an online focus group. I once made $40.00 for my contribution in an online focus group survey which lasted just under an hour. It was a nice experience, a really cool group of people and we had fun sharing our ideas and the best part is we got paid for doing it.

CashCrate - I became a member at this site about a year and half ago. Since that time I have made about $80.00 with them. You get paid to participate in trial offers as well as fill out surveys. A really good site for beginners because the quantity of surveys is not as heavy as other sites but you can still make money by trying out the free trial offers.

Payment Type: Checks Reward Method: Cash and Points

ECN Research - Is also a good beginner site. They do not offer many surveys but mainly focus on trial offers. They give away numerous coupons and discounts to name brand stores which is cool. I have been with them for about 2yrs and while I have not made much money from them, I have received a lot of sample products to try, critique and keep which is good.

Payment Type: Paypal Reward Method: Prizes and Cash

GlobalTestMarket - This site is a really good source of constant surveys. I have been with this site for about 6yrs now. I usually get about 5-8 surveys from them daily, so it is easy to rack up points to convert into cash. I make about $50.00 every two months with this site, so its also a good source of income. This is a good site if you really serious about taking surveys.

Payment Type: Checks Reward Method: Points

Inbox Dollars - This is a really fun site. You not only get paid to take surveys but also to try different products and services. They also compensate you for playing games and shopping which is pretty cool. I signed up with this site about 5yrs ago and average about $30.00 income about every three months with them.

Payment Type: Checks Reward Method: Points

Opinion Outpost - I started with this site about 3yrs ago and I am very pleased with the returns on my time invested. They offer several fun surveys and compensate well for participating in them. I make about $40.00 every couple of months with this site. Really interesting surveys and often receive product samples to try out before they even hit the market. That is really cool.

Payment Type: Checks Reward Method: Cash

Palm Research - Offers one survey per day and pays really well. Since being a member with them about 2yrs ago I have made about $20.00 a month with them. The surveys are always fun and easy to complete and usually takes about 15-25mins on average. This is another good site for serious persons really interested in making a steady small income with taking surveys.

Payment Type: Paypal Reward Method: Cash

Send Earnings - This is a really similar to Inbox Dollars. In fact I think they are related because they offer the same fun stuff. You get paid to take surveys and also to try different products and services. I signed up with this site about the same time as I did with Inbox Dollars and average about $30.00 income about every three months with them as well.

Payment Type: Checks Reward Method: Points

SurveySavvy - I have been a member with this site for about 8yrs and made a nice income with them. They send surveys via email regularly and all surveys pay instant cash. By that I mean no points to convert. Most of the surveys are either worth between $1.00 to $3.00. The length of the surveys is equivalent to the amount of the compensation being offered which is about 15-25min.

Payment Type: Checks Reward Method: Cash

Related Article:

Personal Loans Without Credit Checks

An Analysis of Ernest Hemingway's "Cat in The Rain"

Hello Everyone,

In his frictional story, “Cat in the Rain,” Ernest Hemingway sets the scene for his fiction in a hotel room in Italy on a rainy day. On the first reading of this short story it can be easily interpreted as a wife nagging her husband, who is lying in bed preoccupied reading a book. The young married American’s being in a foreign country on business or pleasure, (Hemingway does not say) one would expect that the expression of love would be more prominent even more so on a rainy day, however, this is not evident in Hemingway’s story. What Hemingway does illustrate is how an “American wife” feels starved for attention and love in her failing marriage.

He uses a cat as a symbol of compassion an affection to express the woman’s need for these emotions. Her frustration with her husband, whom does not readily allow her to physically share these feelings with him, also becomes very evident in the story. Hemingway uses the heavy rains as a tool to confine the American couple to their room, thereby, allowing him to display the interaction between the couple and further demonstrate their deteriorating marriage.

In the story, the “American girl” sees the cat through her window “crouched under one of the dripping green tables,” and immediately feels the need to rescue it. Here is where Hemingway begins to use symbols to express the girl’s determination to save her faltering marriage. He shows the girl’s eagerness to go through the heavy rains to save the cat. The cat represents what she wants in her marriage, affection and compassion, and the rain signifies the struggles she is willing to go through to better her marriage, even if it means getting wet in the process. The “American girl” believes this is a challenge she alone has to endure. Thus, when she announces that she is going to rescue the cat from the rain and her husband George offers to be the hero in the rescue attempt, even though it was a halfhearted offer, she quickly replies “No, I’ll get it.”

With the help of the maid she goes through the rain in search of the cat but when she gets to where she saw it last it has disappeared. The “American wife” becomes even more irritated with herself and her husband when she returns to the room empty handed. She desperately wanted the cat, “I wanted it so much,” but more so, she wanted change in her marriage and change in her appearance. She was tired of her boyish look and felt she needed to be more feminine, “I get so tired of looking like a boy.” However, George was contented with how things were. He barley even shifted from his book when she began scrutinizing her appearance. The only comment of support he could offer was, “You look pretty darn nice,” but she required more for herself.

The cat, even though symbolic, would have allowed her to express her feelings of affection and compassion, “I want to have a kitty to sit on my lap and purr when I stroke her.” George, being insensitive to her needs, did not even offer himself as an outlet for her emotions. Instead his remark to her was, “Oh, shut up and get something to read,” as she continued to utter her discomforts in her appearance and her femininity.

Hemingway’s fictional story does have a surprising ending when the maid brings the “American wife” a “big tortoise-shell cat”. The “American wife” receives what she wanted, an outlet to express her affections and compassions, but in fact, it would not help her marriage. The cat was just a symbol of what she wanted from her husband, George. From the water globe to the 1000 A.D. reading stone (or magnifying glass as we would call it) to Benjamin Franklin’s famous bifocals in the 1780s to the full range of modern day eyeglass options folks can take advantage of today, people are seeing more and better than ever before in history.

Today’s eyewear consumers have a bewildering array of options available after a visit to the optometrist. Not only must they choose frame material, shape, and style, but lens options abound as well. Ironically, most spectacles sold today are not even made of glass, but of stronger and more lightweight alternatives. High-index lens materials allow eyeglasses to be thinner and lighter. Aspheric lenses, which are usually made of high-index materials as well, have flatter curves than conventional lenses, so they fit closer to the face. The options available on today’s market are better than ever. The hard part is choosing which is best for your needs.

Clear Polycarbonate lenses, the same material used in bulletproof glass, are a popular and economic choice. These lenses are much lighter than glass and very impact resistant, making them the lens of choice for children, and folks with amblyopia. While these lenses are not immune to scratching, many places, including 39DollarGlasses.com, include a premium Scratch-Resistant Hard coat at no extra charge, minimizing this concern.

Clear Sieko 1.67 High-Index lenses are also a great choice, especially ideal for moderate to very high prescriptions because they are so light. These lenses are manufactured using high index MR-10 resin. MR-10 is less sensitive to heat and does not easily contract or expand which are the two primary factors that lead to warping and coating deterioration.

Ben Franklin’s bifocals have also come a long way. Today’s consumers have a choice between bifocals with a line, and progressive lenses. Progressive lenses keep the transition gradual, with no abrupt lines interrupting the line of vision. But even lined bifocals have come a long way from Mr. Franklin’s revolutionary 1st pair, and are still preferred by many. Most lined bifocals today are the Flat-Top 28 design, which features a 28mm sideways “D” shaped reading portion fitted in the bottom half of the lens.

Of course, once you decide which kinds of bifocal to get, you still have to decide what lens material it should be crafted with. And if you are looking for sunglasses, there are more decisions still, Polarized or non-polarized, polycarbonate or resin, photo chromic lenses that turn clear lenses dark outside, or a separate pair of sunglasses altogether.

To help decide what is best for your needs you should consult your optometrist. Once you have reached a decision on what is your prescription type, the material your lens needs to be made of, the type of frames and whether or not to use progressive lenses then you are to hit the market to find the perfect glasses that fits your needs. There are many online retailers that offer really good deals on eyeglasses, sunglasses and even contact lens, so make sure and search for the best deal you can get. I have included some of these cheap online sites so you can check them out.

Personal Loans Without Credit Checks

Hello Everyone,

In life we all face different financial situations and often enough these situations arise between pay checks when cash flow is low. These kinds of situations force us to arrange cash to meet these surprise expenses. Might be unexpected medical bill, a necessary car repair or even a house repair, you can arrange instant cash with the help of a quick loan. Even if you feel like you are falling just short of meeting your entire monthly expenses then you can get yourself a same day loan or “Payday Loan” as it is commonly known to help with you financial crisis. These loans are quick short term financial assistance and should be treated as such.

The process for acquiring one of these loans is so quick because there are fewer formalities required with these loans. In fact the whole application is completed online with some clicks and a few minutes and you can be approved in a matter of a few hours. Worried about your credit score? No need to worry since these types of loans, are independent of your credit score. Payday loans are available to everyone without consideration of their credit scores. Most lenders require borrowers to be at least 18 years old, have a valid checking account in their name and a regular job which ensures the repayment capabilities of the borrow, which is you, to the lender.

However, you are not asked to go through any credit checks for these types of loans. You can easily get the money in your account without the hassle of any credit checks, and arrears, CCJs, late payments or any other such records will not hamper your application.

Loans are issued and calculated based on your next paycheck, hence the reason for the omission of these records which would have been a serious issue in your loan approval if you were seeking an over the counter loan in the traditional sense. Payday loans are quickly issued to the borrowers so that they can meet their needs immediately. All you need to do is to submit your application online sit back and wait to be approved.

Payday loans are deposited in your account in just a matter of few hours. The money is deposited in your account as soon as the loan is approved. The repayment of the loan is also done through your checking account as well. The loan company set a prefixed date for payment and the agreed upon amount is deducted out of your account on the set date. This is one of the reasons I really like these types of loans because it is all done online with ease and no hassles. No standing in long lines at the bank only to get rejected days later because my credit score was not high enough or simple because I did not qualify for the loan.

There are several online lenders in the market offering a variety of different types of solutions for Payday loans. Most of these lenders either vary by the interest rate they charge per loan, the amount they would lend you based on your income or the period of time for the loan to be repaid. So make sure the company you decide to choose offers the benefits that fit your needs. You can find many of them easily on the internet and I would try and list some of the more reputable ones as I continue my research and get feedback from friends and colleagues.

Secured Personal Loans

Wireless Network At Home: A Simple How To Guide

Hello Everyone,

For homes with more than one computer, it would be wise for you to setup a wireless network and share your high speed internet connection, as well as the scanner, printer, game consoles and other computer devices. Wireless networking, "Wireless Fidelity" or Wi-Fi as it is commonly known, is gaining popularity nowadays because it is just so darn easy and very straightforward.

So, for those who want to use Wi-Fi technology in their homes, here is a simple tutorial to guide you through the process and answer some of the most frequently asked questions. To setup your home network you will need a wireless router and wireless PCI cards. Any of which you can get at your local BestBuy or you can get it online from Amazon or any other electronic retailer.

1. The Equipment You Will Need.

Start with a wireless or Wi-Fi router. This will allow you to share your internet connection with other wireless devices in your home and you will be able to connect to the net without having to use any networking cables. Next, you will need Wi-Fi cards, or wireless PCI cards, for your desktop or notebook computers. Most laptops nowadays have these already installed. Once the cards are installed it enables your PCs to receive the connection being broadcast by the Wi-Fi router.

Optionally, you can buy a wireless antenna which would boost the signal being put out by your wireless router allowing you to roam further away from the router and still be connected to the internet. Depending on the size of your home and how far you want to be away from the router would determine if you need to buy a wireless antenna. However, most routers have a wide broadcasting range which would work for most situations without needing an antenna. One word of warning though is that your neighbors can borrow your wireless network if you have a strong enough signal for them to tap into, so make sure and implement the security features that come with the router.

2. Choose What Standard To Implement.

Wi-Fi has different standards that have evolved through time. The most popular is 802.11b or “B for short, which can carry data at 11 megabytes per second or mbps. The next generation Wi-Fi is the "G" devices that can transmit data at 54mbps and is the most preferred because of the high rate of data transfer. It is also the pricier of the two options but I am sure you find really cheap deals on G routers. Make sure the one you get is able to handle the amount of data you would anticipate transferring throughout your home network.

3. Installing The Wi-Fi Cards.

Installing a Wi-Fi card might involve opening the casing and installing a card inside your desktop. This can be very complex so it is best to ask for some professional help regarding this one especially if it is your first time.

For notebooks and even desktop PCs you could use a USB Wi-Fi dongle in place of installing a Wi-Fi card. A wireless dongle is a USB network adapter that plugs into your notebook or PC to enable access to a LAN, or peer-to-peer networking without the need of any wires.

4. Connecting To Your Wireless Router.

Before you try to connect to your wireless router, ensure that you have shut down all your devices that would be accessing the wireless router. Select a computer to install the wireless router on, preferable a desktop computer that is central located within your home. Most like that would be in your home office where you also have other devices that would be accessing the router like a printer, scanner and fax machines. Consult the user’s manual that comes with your wireless router to get precise instructions on how to install the router to what would be the Main or the Host computer. Most instruction manuals are very user friendly and contain vivid illustrations so installation is very easy complete.

After installing the router physically you can turn back on your pc and configure the settings of the router. Once again consult the user’s guide to configure the router’s settings and make sure and implement the security features. After fully completing the installation and configuration of the router you can now plug in your printer, scanner and any other devices you want to have access to wirelessly on the network. Doing this should be as simple as connecting these devices to the ports behind the router with the use of an Ethernet cable.

5. Start Surfing.

Once you have installed your wireless router and network cards you are on your way to surfing anywhere in your house. Now you can be in the living room on your laptop surfing the internet and even print out documents and pick them up next time you pass by printer. You can do all this now the proliferation of wireless fidelity. Networking would never been the same spider web of wires running all over the place again and internet connection within your household is now open to a wide array of secure virtual possibilities.

Related Article:

Blackberry Pearl: How To Clean and Repair The Trackball

Snoring vs Sleep Apnea

Hello Everyone,

Many people are bothered by their own snoring or that of their spouse. It can be very disruptive to ones sleep and overall health and well being. Finding the cause of snoring, however, is not so easy to do. Without knowing the real reason a person snores, it is very difficult to determine an effective treatment.

Snoring results when a person falls asleep and the muscles in their mouth, including the roof of their mouth, their tongue and their throat, relax. The process of breathing while the muscles are relaxed creates a vibration that results in blocked airways and snoring. The narrower the airway the more a person snores and the louder the snoring is.

Snoring is caused by a variety of conditions and circumstances. Nasal congestion, for example, can cause the airway to narrow and result in snoring. This is why a person who does not ordinarily snore may become a snorer when they have a cold.

If you have a deviated septum, this can result in snoring as well. Alcohol consumed especially near bedtime causes the throat muscles to relax and can make a person snore. Smoking, allergies, weight, and heredity all contribute to a person's risk of snoring. If you are sick with a cold or sinus infection, this can cause you to snore as well.

Occasional snoring is not a problem but chronic snoring may be a symptom of a more serious disorder called sleep apnea. Although sleep apnea can occur in both men and women at any age, it appears to be most common in men. Sleep apnea can cause breathing to cease for more than 10 seconds. This can occur as many as 300 times or more in one night.

People who suffer from sleep apnea have been found to have an increased risk of stroke, heart disease, and heartbeat irregularities. There are certain risk factors, like obesity and high blood pressure, which can increase your chances of developing sleep apnea. Research also concludes that sleep apnea can run in families, suggesting a possible genetic link.

Usually, the person suffering from sleep apnea is the last one to know. Most sleep apnea sufferers do not even realize that they are waking up throughout the night gasping for air. It is very often their sleep partner who suffers the most from the constant noise and gasping that can go on throughout the night. Since it is possible for the person suffering from sleep apnea to remain unaware of their condition, it is important that the people in their lives speak up when they observe the symptoms.

Sleep apnea can be a serious condition and will only continue to worsen if left untreated. If you are suffering from any of these symptoms, check with your doctor. It is vital that the cause of sleep apnea be correctly determined before any treatment is prescribed.

Although "normal" snoring may respond to non-medical treatment, such as simply changing pillows, sleep positions, or cutting out certain foods. There are a variety of dental and oral devices on the market today that can be used to reduce the effects of chronic snoring or sleep apnea. However, sleep apnea is potentially life-threatening and should not be left to do-it-yourself approaches.

Best Vampire Novels

Hello Everyone,

What is this fascination that people have with the undead? From Mummies, to Zombies, to Vampires, there seem to be a never ending production of movies and books about them.

Currently I have a fixation for anything vampire, be it books, movies or games. Now keep in mind, I read the Twilight Saga after the movie came out, so prior to reading the books I had not even seen the movie. I could not understand the phenomenon it created. Sure, I had seen the trailers and endless media coverage of the movie but I just chalked it up to being another teeny bopper movie. It was not until reading the books that I understood what the whole hype was about. This is going to make me cringe a bit (because I would hate to be among the many teenage crazed fans) but after reading those books I too became a fan. I must say it is one of the best novels I have read so far.

The first book gave entrance to a brilliant beginning. The idea of a human girl falling in love with a vampire was a tell tale story of two opposites coming together for love despite their differences and the trials that accompany such a union. I think that is what I really liked about those books. It had everything, romance, humor, drama and suspense all the ingredients for a well written book. What I did not like about the Saga was the second book, New Moon. Do not get me wrong it was not a bad book. I just did not like how Bella reacted to Edward leaving her. The fact that she was in a zombie like state at first then jumping off of cliffs sort of screamed to me suicide. It just seemed pathetic. Other than that part of the book, I loved the rest.

Around the same time that twilight came out, the HBO series “True Blood” came out. Just like Twilight the movie, True Blood also originated from a series of books, The Sookie Stackhouse Novels (author Charlaine Harris). It even has a similar plot to Twilight, you know, girl meets vampire, girl falls in love with vampire and so on. The nice twist about this story is that the girl (Sookie) is a telepath who can read people’s mind except for vampires and the vampires roam free among people. While Twilight had a more teenage audience, the Sookie Stackhouse books is more adult oriented. The books are not as well written as the previous book I talked about but it does have a good story base and the television series is even better.

To keep on this vampire trend, the next book I got my hands on and read was the “The Strain”. I will start off by saying BEST book I have ever read thus far. There is nothing romantic about this book; it is just a classic horror tale. No vampire and human falling in love in this book just the traditional vampire draining human of their blood and killing them. This book had me from the beginning, a plane where everyone is discovered dead within minutes of landing and a master vampire trying to obliterate the human race. Now this book may be a bit challenging to some cause there are so many characters and personal stories being told, that it jumps periodically from character to character and even through time. I thought it was a magnificent touch to it, though my coworker would beg to differ, she thought keeping track of the characters and events were a bit difficult (lol).

What was also different with this book was that there were two writers. A writer and a movie director made an explosive combination. There were parts that even spooked me a bit. I am secretly hoping they make a movie of it. But knowing how they butcher movies based on books is enough to just leave well alone. The Strain is the first of a trilogy and I cannot wait for the other books to be published.

Of the three books that I spoke about I would definitely recommend The Strain and if you are more the romantic then read the Twilight Saga. I would leave to watching the True Blood series rather than reading the Sookie Stackhouse books. For the next book I read, I am thinking of “Interview with the Vampire”. Hope it does not disappoint.

Written by Sabrina Ali

An Analysis of Langston Hughes Poem "Theme for English B"

Hello Everyone,

In his poem “Theme for English B,” a response to an assignment given by his class instructor, Langston Hughes writes about the differences between himself and his instructor’s race. He talks about being the only “colored” person in his class and expresses the feeling of being similar to other races, primarily “white”, and yet different throughout the poem. Although he details the commonalities between the two races, Langston manages to write a poem that is representational of his “colored” ethnic background, using his community, Harlem, as a source of inspiration.

The instructor’s assignment in the poem can be interpreted as a challenge to the students to write a paper with feeling and emotion. In the poem, the instructor advises the students to, “Go home and write a page tonight. And let that page come out of you,” The instructor believes that by getting the students to write a paper from the heart, whatever is written “will be true.”

Langston’s paper, in the form of a poem, details what he feels. His feelings come from his school and community, Harlem, and its impact on him. For example, Brent Staples in his essay “Black Men in Public Spaces” narrates about the fear he imposes on mainly white women in public spaces. In his essay, Staples details many of his experiences in which he was the victim of racial profiling. He gives details about women crossing the street and even quickening their steps to avoid his presence. The experiences Langston would have felt being the only “colored” person in his classroom would have been similar to experiences Staples narrates about in his essay. Langston, therefore draws on his experiences from going to school and living in Harlem, a poor community at the time, and expresses it in his poem, “I feel and see and hear Harlem, I hear you: hear you, hear me-we two-you, me, talk on this page.”

Harlem does not only have an effect on Langston but on his “white” professor and classmates as well. They are going to school in the community on a daily bases and share in the same emotions Harlem imposes on Langston. This is a parallel link between the races Langston does not address. He fails to show how the similar effects a poor neighborhood will have on any race. Instead he chooses to illustrate everyday activities almost all races engage in. He states in the poem “I like to eat, sleep, drink,” and “I like to work, read, learn, and understand life.” By using these mundane activities he manages not to single himself out from his classmates or his instructor, but shows the similarities they share. He uses the statement “I guess being colored doesn’t make me not like the same things other folks like who are other races.” to further strengthen his point of being comparable to his “white” counterparts. Using these common links, Langston illustrates how he can be from any race and goes on to tell the instructor in the poem, “You are white-yet a part of me, as I am a part of you. That’s American.” suggesting that by being American you are part of all races.

To his credit Langston does suggest that his professor will be free from Harlem’s poverty effects. His statement “Although you’re older-and white and somewhat more free” made later in the poem can be interpreted as the professor’s freedom to be omitted from the emotions Langston derives from Harlem. At the time Langston had written his poem, 1949, “colored” people were not treated as fairly as “white” people were and was not entitled to the same benefits, economic or other, some “white” people enjoyed. Therefore the professor would have been able to reside out of Harlem or live in one of its better parts, whereas, Langston would not. Thus, even after proving his similarities with his professor, he maintained that his experiences would still be different. His statement “So will my page be colored that I write? Being me it will not be white.” exemplifies this point of view.

Overall Langston’s poem echoes his pride of belonging to a “colored” background. This is revealed in his statement, “Sometimes perhaps you don’t want to be a part of me. Nor do I often want to be a part of you.” However, he admits that even though he shares a different ethnic background with the instructor, he proclaims that the similarities they share make them part of each other and he refers to that statement as being “true”. Langston’s poem takes the reader on a journey through the commonalities between races but does so from a “colored” view. In my opinion his poem is a good representation of what he was feeling inside at the time and therefore makes it “true”.

Related Article:

An Analysis of Ernest Hemingway's "Cat in The Rain"

"In his frictional story, “Cat in the Rain,” Ernest Hemingway sets the scene for his fiction in a hotel room in Italy on a rainy day. By acting up I mean not being able to scroll properly with the trackball. I started having to push even hard to get it to go in the directions I wanted it to go and then eventually it would no longer scroll downwards. I was in a totally panic cause I could no longer access the different icons especially the Note Pad and Memo icons which I heavily rely on. I began weighing my options on whether or not it would be wise to go out and spend money on another brand new Berry or spend money trying to fix this one knowing that I had so much info on it and no clue as how to get it off without the trackball working properly.

I decided on neither option (lol) and began learning how to navigate the phone by just using the keypad and the minimal directions the trackball would surrender too. I lasted a week doing that before becoming even more frustrated lol. I thought this problem was occurring because a few months ago my phone fell into a glass of water. Yeah I know don’t ask, it just happened. Lucky I dried it out by opening it up, well just the back really, and left it out in the sun for a couple of minutes. It started back up easy and was working fine and still is. However, I can no longer get the trackball to scroll downwards no matter how hard I try, and believe me I have tried lol, but it appears to be sticking when I try scrolling downwards.

Thought to myself I cannot be the only one having this problem with my Blackberry Pearl, especially after check a phone repair store and they gave me an insane quote to fix or replace the trackball completely. So I figured somewhere online must have a solution to my problem and I began my search. I found several articles on general care for the phone, how to clean the trackball and even trackball replacement kits. I did not even know they sold the trackball separately lol. Anyway I tried some of the suggestions that I got and nothing really worked. So I narrowed in my search and finally got the answer I was looking for. Turns out several people had the same sticking problem with the trackball and the solution to fixing it was really simple.

All you would need is a small flat head screwdriver (Don’t worry you are not going to be opening up the phone), a Q-tip, some type of alcoholic solution (Not the type you drink, no we are not going to be making cocktails lol), a flat surface and good lighting. Yep that is right that is all the tools you need to stop that darn trackball from sticking. So here are the steps I followed to get my Pearl back up and running:

1. 1. Use the flat head screwdriver to pry off the metallic looking ring around the trackball. Be very careful cause it is not metal, it is a really thin piece of plastic that can easily break. It is also very small so do not lose it. Notice the amount of gunk showing already lol yeah I wondered myself how did it all get there lol.

2. Once the rink is off you would see the trackball mechanism which could now be taken out of the phone. If you have a magnetic screwdriver the side wheels of the trackball mechanism would stick to it and you would be able to lift out the mechanism easily. If not then just gently pry out the mechanism. Place the trackball mechanism on the table alongside the plastic ring.

3. 3. You would notice you can now see the internal parts under the trackball, cool right, not if yours is as dirty as mine was lol. Remove any visible, reachable pieces of lint, crumbs or whatever lol, you might want to turn the phone over and give a gently knock on the back to help dislodge or get out any other particles.

4. 4. In the middle of the hole in your phone now you would notice a large square in the middle and four other smaller squares in the corners. These are the sensors for the trackball, the middle for when you depress the trackball and the other squares are directional sensors. Dip the Q-tip in the alcoholic solution (I used Mentholated Spirits). Make sure and squeeze off any excess solution, you just want the Q-tip to be damp. Use the Q-tip and wipe off these sensors carefully. Yes all that black stuff on the Q-tip is muck that was blocking the sensors from reading your directions properly.

5. 5. Place the phone face down on the table so nothing would fall into the gaping hole in your phone. Dip the other end of the Q-tip in more solution making sure to remove any excess and take up the trackball mechanism. Clean the mechanism thoroughly by running the Q-tip over the trackball in all directions. Get another Q-tip if needed and make sure and really work the Q-tip over and over on the trackball. Also clean the magnetic wheels on the side of the mechanism and any visible gunk all around the mechanism.

6. 6. Now that the trackball has gotten a really good cleaning you can reinsert it into the phone. Make sure the teardrop shape metal on the underside of the mechanism is facing downwards when you reinsert the mechanism into the phone. Replace the plastic ring ensuring that prongs on the back of it line up and snap it into position.

That is it your trackball should be working properly now. You should feel it running a lot smoother, if not give it a couple of minutes and let any remaining alcoholic solution dry off. If it still does not work then you might need to replace the entire trackball mechanism. You can get it really cheap at Amazon.com for like $8.00 and well you now know how to install it when you get it. Below I have attached a photo showing the parts you would be dealing with when you take out the track ball. The additional metal ring in the middle is found on earlier models of the Blackberry Pearl so if you do not have it do not worry about it. Good luck and I hope this article help get your Berry back up and running.

Related Article:

Wireless Network At Home: A Simple How To Guide
